Eddie Guardado’s Stars and Strikes, the annual celebrity bowling tournament and fundraiser presented by The Eddie Guardado Foundation in conjunction with ACT Today!, (Autism Care and Treatment Today!) is proud to announce the starting line-up of athletes and celebrities that will be playing in support of The Eddie Guardado Foundation and its mission to support those impacted with Autism.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in 88 children in America is diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), making ASD more prevalent than juvenile diabetes, pediatric cancer and childhood AIDS combined.  With the monies raised during the Stars and Strikes event last year, the Eddie Guardado Foundation awarded grants to more than 50 families for everything from a new fence allowing a young boy in San Diego to play securely in his front yard to 33 iPads to assist with language development and daily living skills.

The net proceeds generated by this star-studded event will be used to provide direct support and assistance to families who do not have the means to provide the necessary treatment, therapy and tools for their children impacted by autism.

Stars and Strikes is a great, fun-filled evening for a worthwhile cause,” says Eddie Guardado.  “Thanks to the continued support of the MLB community as well as corporate sponsors, friends, and family and we are able to assist a growing number of families each year.”

About The Eddie Guardado Foundation:
Major League All-Star Pitcher, Eddie Guardado and his wife Lisa established The Eddie Guardado Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) in 2008 after their youngest child, Ava, was diagnosed with autism. Lisa and Eddie understand the emotional and financial hardships families impacted with autism experience and founded the Eddie Guardado Foundation to help other families receive access to therapy and treatments that they could not otherwise afford.

In January 2011, The Eddie Guardado Foundation joined forces with ACT Today! (Autism Care and Treatment Today!), as both non-profits share the mission of providing awareness of and access to effective therapies for children with autism. Since their partnership began, the Eddie Guardado Foundation has enabled ACT Today! to provide an additional 100 grants to help children with autism achieve their highest potential. The organizations continue to collaborate together with Eddie and Lisa serving on the ACT Today! board.
