In partnership with Amy Brown, founder of the The Make It Count Project, HOM Sotheby's International Realty gathered brokers, employees and their families to participate in the company's "Day of Giving".  Committed to charity and giving back to our community, the company made over 50 dog blankets and 32 dog toys  for the OC Animal Care.  In addition, 125 plush toys were made for kids associated with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Orange County program.

HOM broker John Cain, who sits on the board of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Orange County, addressed the crowd, thanking them for making the plush toys for the kids. Tammy Osborn, Adoption Partner Coordinator for OC Animal Care and Katie Ingram, Community Outreach Supervisor OC Animal Care, attended the event, bringing several dogs who are up for adoption.

With mid-century lounge treatment chairs embroidered with the Lollipop logo and a vintage bamboo sofa where clients are offered treatments, the large, bright space also features several large tables where classes and parties can be accommodated.  A vintage candy display that now showcases Lollipop’s organic and natural recipe ingredients, welcomes clients as does the smell of the four essential elements used in the studio’s signature manicures and pedicures: almond, rose, camellia and geranium.

Inspired by Jackie Dalton’s young daughter to offer a nail salon free of chemicals, owners Jackie Dalton, an FIDM alum and former designer and boutique owner, and Hope Allen, an actress, launched Lollipop Nail Studio in September 2012.   “We feel so blessed to have grown so much in a year,” says Dalton. “People are just learning about all the nasties in nail polish and cosmetics and have embraced our fresh mani/pedi experience. Our clients are often surprised to see all of these gorgeous nail colors in formulations that are much healthier for you.”

HEALTHIER NAIL POLISH: Offering nourishing nail polish that is safe for your skin in a wide variety of shades and colors, the treatments are safe for adults and kids alike. Lollipop has grown its offerings of non-toxic nail polish that are free of Toluene, DBP, formaldehyde and camphor, including:

SIGNATURE LOLLIPOP NAIL STUDIO MANICURES AND PEDICURES: For each service, Lollipop sterilizes all stainless steel tools, and uses only brand-new files, sticks and buffers, as well as new liners for each pedicure. Manicures are waterless, performed with hot towels and custom-created oils.

Newport Beach, CA – Charlie & Me, along with design partner Jackz Custom Furniture, are proud to announce a line of contemporary, custom nightstands with space for a dog retreat underneath. 

The nightstands, built to order, feature a modern aesthetic with clean lines that can be at home in a bedroom, entry, living room or office and feature a cozy space for dogs of all sizes to curl up. 

Featuring a variety of finishes, including red or espresso mahogany with antique mirror drawers, or white or Makassar ebony with standard mirror drawers, customers can choose from two sizes: 30 or 36 inches wide (by 18 inches deep and 30 inches high). ABOUT KIKO ALONSO
Kiko Alonso attended the University of Oregon, where he played for the Oregon Ducks football team from 2008 to 2012. After redshirting in 2008, he spent the 2009 season as Oregon's primary reserve middle linebacker. He appeared in the final 12 games, accumulating 13 of his 16 tackles unassisted.  Alonso was named the 2012 Rose Bowl Defensive Player of the Game with one interception and five tackles, including career-highs of 1.5 sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss. In his final season, he started in all 13 games and earned second team all-conference honors while recording 87 tackles, including 16 tackles for loss, a sack, four interceptions, seven pass deflections and two forced fumbles.
On April 26, 2013, Alonso was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the second round (46th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft.

Alonso made an immediate impact for the Bills notching 9 tackles in his first NFL regular season game against the New England Patriots.  The next week against the Carolina Panthers, Alonso had a total of 10 tackles, 1 interception, and a sack to lead the Bills to their first win of the season.  With an interception against the New York Jets in week 3, Alonso became the first Bills player to record an interception in back to back games since Jairus Byrd in 2009.

On October 3, 2013, Alonso was named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month for the month of September.

In a Week 6 game vs. Cincinnati, Alonso had the biggest game of his young career, where he recorded 22 tackles. Although Buffalo lost in overtime, Alonso got nominated for NFL Rookie of the Week for the second time of his career.

The Dog Parade will begin at 4:30 at Classic Kids Photography (219 Marine Ave  Newport Beach, CA 92662), and the procession will make its way up and down Marine Avenue until they end back at the store. During the event, Classic Kids Photography will offer a complimentary mini photo shoot with your dog, and Charlie & Me will have merchandise for sale.
